What? Just a Normal Day?

Now that all the hoopla is over, Eleanor is ready to get back to her normal schedule with plenty of naps! Yeah!

Christmas Day

Elle gave each present the taste test. Fortunately they all passed.

Yes, this DVD will do just fine. It tastes great!

Christmas Eve

Eleanor was a very lucky girl this Christmas. She received so many fun toys, books, and adorable clothes from her relatives who love her very much. Thank you. Joe and I appreciate everything so much and send our best wishes too all of you that we could not celebrate with this holiday.

Oops

We had a little accident during dinner tonight. While I was moving the spoon toward Elle's mouth she tried to rub her eyes. As a result, carrots all over the face. She's a pretty good eater these days. She seems pretty willing to eat anything, so far. We'll see how it goes once we try to introduce those lovely pureed peas and turkey dinners. Yuck.

I Couldn't Resist

When I saw Eleanor's chubby cheeks and little grin in this picture, I couldn't help but think that she looked like a Cabbage Patch Kid. Actually, her mouth is closed like that because she has been grinding her gums together to help sooth the new teeth that are coming in. As you may have noticed, I somewhat calmed the mane of hair with a little pony tail on top of her head.

Come Christmas Day, Elle may have a Cabbage Patch Kid of her own. I spoke with Santa and he said that since it is the 25th Anniversary of the Cabbage Patch Dolls he might bring Elle one since her mommy had one when they first came out (thanks to Aunt Janet).

Give Me a Brush!

I'm not quite sure what to do with this child's hair. She woke up from her nap yesterday and looked like this. It just keeps getting longer and fluffier. The bows aren't cutting it anymore, because they just don't hold enough. I've started to use tiny rubber bands, but since she can't sit up on her own quite yet I feel like I'm wrestling with her to get them in. I guess we'll just have to wait out this crazy hair period until we get to the pig-tail stage and then eventually the braid stage. I knew having a girl was going to be complicated. If she were a boy I would probably go straight to the mohawk stage. Oh, grandma would love that!

I'll Have the Steak

Eleanor's first tooth broke through. I noticed it this morning and when I put my finger over it I could definitely feel the top of the tooth. If you click on the picture you can get a better view of the tooth. Solid food here we come!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

We had our first real snow last night. It's not much, but just enough to cover the ground and make it pretty and white outside. I don't think Joe appreciated it very much though. He left for the train in Naperville around 7:00 am this morning and around 8:18 am he emailed me from his phone and said he was still stuck in traffic. First snow + first day back from vacation = awful traffic.

Saturday we dug out all the Christmas decorations. We had to add a few more this year for Elle. Above his her new stocking, waiting for Santa to fill it up with goodies.

The tree is up, stockings hung, and a few presents wrapped.
