The Birds

There is a giant group of birds that flies throughout our neighborhood. As you drive down the main road through Lakewood Falls you can often spot them on groups of houses. Well, this morning they landed on our court. I put the baby down for a nap and heard the overwhelming sound of birds chirping. When I looked out the window, there they were, sitting on all the houses and trees. I had to catch it on video. I was almost expecting Tippy Hedren to come running down the street. Creepy. I have a thing about birds.

Trying New Things

This week Elle is trying rice cereal. It really wasn't as hard and messy as I thought it would be. She kind of got the idea right away. This kid has always been a good eater. Just like her mommy and daddy.

She is also becoming more and more comfortable on her tummy and lifting her head. Last night she rolled over on her own from her stomach to her back. I caught it on camera today. I love the satisfied smile she gives me after she makes it over.

Fall is Setting In

Well, I think we will be putting all the summer clothes away soon. This week really feels like Fall here in Chicago. I don't know if Elle will need her sun bonnet much longer. We visit the doctor on Thursday for her four month check up. It will be another round of shots. This time I will have the baby Tylenol ready. Last time I left with a warning from the nurse that she might be fussy or develop a fever so I may want to give her Tylenol. She was so happy and smiley when we got home that I decided to pass on the Tylenol. Poor thing, about an hour later she was screaming and crying like I have never heard before.
Next week Joe and I go to our Baptism class at our new parish, St. Mary Immaculate, in Plainfield. After the class we will be able to set the date for the Baptism. I'm hoping to do it in early November when the weather is still decent and we aren't battling snow storms.

Four Generations

Well, we made the trip to Middletown, OH this summer so Eleanor could meet family friends and relatives. Her great grandparents were very exicted to see her. It's a shame we don't live closer.

We decided to get dressed up and wear this adorable little dress. There aren't too many opportunities for a two month old to wear her best out-fits before she grows right out of them.
It was pretty exhausting meeting all those new people. Elle finally gave up a slept for about 4 hours on Great Grandma and Grandpa's floor. It was peaceful moment at last.

Eleanor, Elle, Ellie. . . What are you calling her?

Well, the first question we've been getting these days is, "What are you calling her?" I seem to always call her either Eleanor or Elle (with a silent "e" on the end), while Joe calls her everything from Eleanor to Hey Buddy. We're not sure what name is going to stick right now and probably won't until she goes to her first day of kindergarten when her classmates will decide and she'll end up being called that for the rest of her life. So, for now it's what ever you think fits.

Welcome to The World, Baby!

We welcomed little Eleanor Elizabeth Danno on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 1:32 pm. After about 20 hours in the hospital she decided to make an appearance.

Weighing 8lbs 3oz and 20.5 inches in length, she is a happy, healthy, and beautiful baby girl.

So far she's a very peaceful baby. Nights haven't been too bad, as long as she's tightly wrapped in her blanket.
Daddy and daughter happily sleeping away in the hospital room. I'll give you one guess who's not getting any sleep these days.

Elle loves her daddy.
